Its always nice after a photography shoot to hear the customer would like a framed photo. To me photography is much more than just taking photos and processing them, I always feel when handing over a memory stick or sending a link to their online gallery that its just not the end product.
I love the idea of first capturing the photo through my lens and finally seeing it presented in a lovely suited frame, which looks amazing compared to viewing it on a computer screen. Of course for photographers this helps in presenting the photo(s) as we shot them as our monitors are calibrated for printing but it also helps viewers feel the emotion in the photo rather than being another nice photo among the many others on the computer.
I also enjoy the challenge of printing and professionally framing photos, I use nothing but the best lustre paper and traditional archival framing methods in order to make sure the framed photos last the testing times of hanging, sunlight, moving house, cleaned, boxed and everything else that framed photos often go though.
I use a local framing company to manufacture the frame to any size I want, I then print and frame the photo myself in-house, and its always a joy.
